2020-10-1, Timberlin Park, Berlin, CT

 On 2020-10-1, I visited Timberlin Park in Berlin, CT. Blow-down 1.  I hiked with Bill Shortell of New Britain, CT.  We found lots of evidence of blow-down cutting that had been down in recent weeks on the Metacomet Trail.  We are sitting on the first large blow-down we came to as we hiked from Timberlin Park towards Ragged Mountain. Bill stopped to take a phone call at a viewpoint on the Metacomet. Blow-down 2.  Actually two blow-downs. Blow-down 3. Blow-down 4. Blow-down 5.  Is that another blow-down another 100 feet down the trail? Fungi that Bill found near the mill dam.  I think this is chicken of the woods, Laetiporus sulphureus, an edible mushroom.
